This is a complete Reed valve assembly kit to suit 200cc Oval ported cylinders.

This is the MrB preferred version using our 6 petal Reed cage (block) reed assembly using carbon reeds.

It comes complete with these parts
  • Cast reed manifold, with long screw and washers
  • Reed Cage (block)
  • Mounting rubber
  • Fits 26, 28 and 30mm Dellorto PHBH carbs
  • Fits 24, 28 and 30mm PWK carbs
  • Fits 22 - 26mm Dellorto PHBL but requires a sleeve making and fitting

Technical

For this reed block to fit a number of fins above the inlet port will need grinding away.

Ideally for this to work;
  • The inlet port needs opening up and matching to the reed casting and in some cases the reed casting may need matching to the inlet port.
  • The manifold needs bolting to the cylinder and flowing into the inlet port.
  • It needs at least one boost port grinding above the inlet port, 2 or 3 ports can be used depending on piston used and ring peg spacings.
  • Depending on tuning spec, transfers and exhaust port may need re looking at.

MrB offers all these services.

Always rejet the carb to set it up for a full reed tune.

Tips

Use some soft rubber bonded to the cylinder head cowling to support the carb float bowl, this will help prevent the carb rubber from splitting over time.

Do not over tighten the rubber jubilee clip and always fit a carb dry with a dry rubber, this will help prevent the rubber from splitting.

This casting fits 200cc type inlet studs, we can alter them for a 150 type studding at an extra cost for labour.

Mugello cylinders........... ALWAYS CHECK what stud gap is required on your cylinder.

Silicone seal the gasket areas.

MB Group, Serious Outdoors Ltd replied: It will all depend on your cylinders condition so If you showed us your cylinder, piston and head for us to check over you will need this work doing minimum. LAB292 LAB293 LAB294 The cylinder may require this work doing LAB295 And you may need your piston and head modifying to suit, or a reed valved piston swapping or a rebore.

MB Group, Serious Outdoors Ltd replied: Yes it fits but there is some work required to make it fit. You will need work to grind some fins, then the inlet manifold and inlet port needs tuning along with a boost port, Ideally the exhaust port needs reworking to get the best from a reed valve. We do all this work if you are interested.
